Is it worth the time and money to use?
I’ve had an account on rent.men for about 12 years. The site was once very ok with having watermarks on images and has sense being banning the use of watermarks. My guess for the change of mind is that they want to make it so that it members have no way to contact the models if an account expires.
I will list all of the pros and cons of my experience using the site.
Pros
- It has a large user base
- It’s based in the Netherlands which provides some protection for the sites use.
Cons
- The site is riddled with flakes, scammers and crime.
- They no longer offer phone support as they once did in 2012, only through the online chat which requires an account to use
- Clients are required to pay to view videos which the models use for marketing
- They no longer accept Amex and other cards are being pulled as this violates the terms of the cards use
- People constantly create fake accounts on there only to use to harass the models (escorts)
- The infrastructure of the site is dated and not built for the future of web use
- They have no real method to determine if a meeting took place. You must use their messenger to provide proof of a meeting in order to leave a review
- Reviews are often removed by rentmen at models request. This create trust issues among its members
- The messenger app has not been updated in many years and has known issues that are publicly visible on the App Store.
- The message often doesn’t deliver messages in timely fashion leaving a trail of missed connections.
- The quality of clients has gone down hill. Models often speak of how many of the clients low ball them on their rates.
